Why did this problem happen? (Why were parting walls not constructed?)
We are still in the process of investigating the cause, but we believe it was due to inadequacies in our construction supervision system as well as our inspection system. Concerning properties conducted after 2008, we have reviewed and organized the checking system conducted by the headquarters, and currently conduct nine internal inspection and four inspection by third parties, and strive for quality control. After sufficiently investigating the cause of the deficiencies, we will disclose our progress and take further measures to prevent recurrence.

How will investigations be conducted?
Regarding investigations, we will inform owners and tenants in advance, and visually confirm parting walls from the investigation port (existence of parting walls, gaps, and whether the wall reaches the edge), as well as save photographed images. *In some cases, we may create openings in the upper part of the eaves.

How long will each investigation take? Will there be any noise?
Investigations will take about an hour per room. There will be noise and vibrations when holes in the ceiling, etc. are created and restored. We will conduct investigations in a careful manner in order to cause as little trouble as possible.

How many days will the repair work require?
The process and repair method will vary depending on the property, but we are assuming a few days per room for repair works done on individual rooms, and about two weeks for repair works on the entire attic, including preparation. Repair works will be conducted while consulting with specific administrative agencies, so the above periods are only a guide.

Would deficiencies in the parting wall have an effect on the building's entire structure?
In general, there is no impact on the structural resistance of buildings from construction deficiencies of parting walls in attics or spaces above ceilings. ※This is not the case when the parting wall acts as a load-bearing wall.

What is the difference between "No parting wall" and "Partial deficiencies," disclosed in the all-building investigation progress report?
"No parting walls" are properties with no parting walls constructed, and "Partial deficiencies" are properties with parting walls constructed but have partial deficiencies or gaps.
