Leopalace21 Corporation (headquarters: Nakano-ku, Tokyo, Japan; President and CEO: Bunya Miyao; “the Company”) announced that Leopalace Green Energy Project, which was announced in September 2022, offset over 3,000 t-CO2 cumulatively by supplying approximately 470,000 ㎥ of virtually CO2-emmission-free Leopalace Green LP Gas (“LG LP Gas”).

▪ Outline of Leopalace Green Energy Project

As various efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions are underway around the world, this project, as part of the Company’s energy strategy, aims to supply LG LP Gas with virtually zero CO2 emissions to combat climate change, improve convenience and safety for tenants, and promote real estate tech business.
In conjunction with LG LP Gas supply, the Company also offers LPWA service, which enables remote operation of gas meters. The service includes web-based application for gas opening, web-based billing, and 24-hour gas usage monitoring.

▪ CO2 Emissions Control Effect

The Company began switching to LG LP Gas at the apartments under its management in January 2023; the cumulative supply reached approximately 470,000 ㎥ by the end of March 2024 leading to the reduction of CO² emissions by more than approximately 3,000 t-CO2.
This is equivalent to replacing approximately 98 million plastic bags by one's own reusable bag, or replacing approximately 42 million 350-ml plastic cups by one's own reusable bottle*.

▪Outlook

The Company plans to begin supplying Leopalace Green Electricity, LG Electricity, a virtually renewable energy accompanied by non-fossil certificates, as soon as it is ready.
By providing the combination of LG LP Gas and LG Electricity, the Company aims to make the apartments under the management virtually CO2 emission free.

  • Leopalace Green LP Gas
  • This LP gas offsets the greenhouse gases generated in the entire value chain of LP gas, including transportation from production to consumption, by carbon credits obtained from environmental conservation projects conducted around the world, thereby reducing CO2 emissions from LP gas use to virtually zero.

  • LPWA Service
  • LPWA stands for Low Power Wide Area, a wireless communication technology that enables long-distance communication with low power consumption.
With the introduction of this service, gas suppliers are able to remotely monitor the gas usage 24 hours a day, as well as close and open valves for improving convenience and safety for the tenants.
